Singapore Government has recently offered Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SME) an over S$80 million nudge to go digital transformation with a new SME-Go-Digital programme. The plan will start with targeted sectors: Retail, Food Services, Wholesale Trade and Logistics, among others. These were chosen as they are “Sectors where digital technologies can significantly improve productivity”, said Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat. The digitisation must go beyond “traditional” solutions such as digitising accounting systems to include more advanced areas such as social media marketing, data analytics and intelligent automations.
